Since the SageTV software is only available via download, what happens after my purchase?
After you purchase any SageTV software application, you will receive a license key and a download link for the respective
software via e-mail immediately after your transaction is complete.
What if I purchase the Sage software/hardware bundle?
You will receive your license key via e-mail and then your PVR card or device will
ship within 2 business days directly from our office in California.
What is the difference between SageTV and SageTV Recorder?
SageTV and SageTV Recorder are two completely different programs but
share the same underlying technology. However they do not rely on each other to run.
They were both designed as
timeshifting PVR applications for the PC. SageTV Recorder only gives you time-based recording options with no
Integrated Programming Guide. SageTV gives you a fully Integrated Programming Guide and a full-screen interface.
Providing you with Programming Guide data gives you Intelligent Record ing and Scheduling, Favorites Recording,
Search Functionality and Parental Controls.
What are my shipping options?
If you live in the United States we can ship by any of the following:
- UPS Ground : Guaranteed day of delivery within 3-5 business days for the contiguous 48 states
- UPS 2nd Day Air : Guaranteed 2nd day delivery
- Next Day Air Saver : Guaranteed next day delivery within the 48 contiguous states
If you live in Canada, we deliver by FedEX. For anywhere else around the world, we deliver by Air Letter Post or Parcel Post.
How do you handle charging for Sales Tax?
If your shipping address is in California, you will be charged Sales Tax of 8.25% based on office in Inglewood, CA.
What is the upgrade policy for all SageTV applications?
We reserve the right to charge for future upgrades but most minor upgrades will be available at no charge.
How will I be notified of available upgrades?
We will always post a link to the most current versions of either application on our home page at
www.sagetv.com.
Can I run any SageTV software application on multiple PCs?
You will need one licensed copy of SageTV software for each PC it is installed on.
Is any of the SageTV software available for professional use?
All Sage software products sold in our online store can only be used for
"personal use" on a "home personal computer".

How do I get programming data outside of the U.S.?
You can use the third-party EPG plugin discussed in our Configuration
section. More information on using the XMLTV plugin is available under the
